2-wire connectors

On all four connectors the black wire, wire number 2 is the negative ground wire and the coloured wires (red, orange, yellow and white) are the positive wires.

HEX ezCAN 3-pin connectors and plugs

Generation 1 ezCAN:

  • 2-wire versions:
    • All output wires are 17AWG (1.0mm2)
  • 3-wire versions
    • High power outputs (red & orange) are 16AWG (1.5mm2)
    • Low power outputs (yellow + white) are 17AWG (1.0mm2)
    • Control wires for 3-wire lights (red/white and white/black) are 18AWG (0.75mm2)

Generation 2 ezCAN:

  • High power outputs (red, blue, yellow and white) are 16AWG (1.5mm2)
  • Control wires for 3 wire lights are 18AWG (0.75mm2)

The main difference between the two devices are the output circuits. The Gen II devices offers 4x 10A outputs instead of the 2x 10A and 2x 4A on the Gen I, this allows for great configuration flexibility as opposed to the preset configurations for Gen I devices.

The other huge change is support for two sets of individually operated lights. This allows users to change the intensity of each pair lights individually, or even turn a pair off or on while on the move.

Some smaller but relevant changes as well:

  • Support for turn signals
  • Support for heated gear
  • Support for run/brake/turn channels
  • Support for 3-wire accessories like the Innovv K2 Dashcam

We have had a few clients who have done this in the past. The connector to the bike will need to be replaced by one of the ezCAN connectors, you should only require the striped red/blue wire and brown. You can view the connector below:
